The Story Behind PUYaari
University life in Punjab is rich with tradition, energy, and ambition. Whether it's the peaceful tree-lined lanes of Punjabi University Patiala or the vibrant buzz around the legendary Student Centre ("StuC") at Panjab University Chandigarh, every student's journey is defined by the friendships they forge and the challenges they overcome together.
However, for tens of thousands of students moving away from home for the first time, campus life often started with frustration: predatory property brokers charging hefty commissions for substandard PGs, difficulty finding compatible roommates, lack of central campus information, and isolation in unfamiliar departments.
PUYaari was founded to solve these exact problems. Designed by alumni and student creators, PUYaari bridges the gap between campus administration and authentic student daily life. We built a platform that belongs entirely to the student body—providing transparent tools, genuine peer connections, and helpful curated resources.
Our Core Principles & Editorial Standards
To provide authentic, long-term value to our university audience and ensure compliance with the highest standards of digital publishing:
- Authentic Unique Value: We curate comprehensive, original student guides covering university departments, admission procedures, hostel allotments, library facilities, and neighborhood housing guides. Every piece of content is researched and updated by campus residents.
- Zero Brokerage Housing Transparency: We firmly believe students shouldn't have to pay brokerage fees to find a roof over their heads. Our accommodation directory connects students directly with fellow batchmates and verified property owners.
- Student Safety & Strict Anti-Harassment: We maintain strict moderation standards. Forged identities, cyberbullying, doxxing, and ragging are met with instant, permanent termination.
- Independent Community Voice: While we work to support students attending Punjabi University and Panjab University, PUYaari operates as an independent student initiative, providing candid, unbiased advice and resources.
